Swim Instructor roles available NOW!

Great positions available:

1/ Learn to Swim Instructors

Are you passionate about teaching children a critical life skill?

Would suit someone studying or with older children who are self-sufficient or have left home, or a young school aged (over 16 years) person with a swimming background.

Dolphin Academy is a swim school based at the Green Family Taradale Pool, located on the grounds of Taradale Primary School.  Our mission is to deliver an exceptional, family focused service producing lifelong swimmers.  We are local, family owned and operated, community focused and passionate about teaching kids to swim.

With over 500 swimmers a week, Dolphin Academy runs Learn to Swim classes Monday to Friday in the afternoons and early evenings, and Saturday mornings.

We’re after motivated, enthusiastic swim instructors to join our supportive, fun-loving team. We especially love hearing from secondary school students who are passionate, hard-working and committed – it’s genuinely rewarding work, and great CV-building experience if teaching, coaching or sport is on your radar.

To be successful you will ideally have:

●       Enthusiasm and a genuine passion for working with children of all ages

●       Initiative, strong communication and a good work ethic

●       Flexibility to work rostered shifts and Saturdays

●       Previous swim instructor or teaching experience is an advantage, although training will be given

A current First Aid Certificate and relevant Swim Instructor & Lifeguard qualifications are an advantage but not essential – training is provided.

We’re looking for people to work between 5-10 hours a week, starting January 2027, with afternoon and/or Saturday shifts available throughout the year.  Training is scheduled this side of Christmas, with your start date following our annual shutdown over summer.

To apply, please send a cover letter outlining your experience, qualifications and availability, along with your CV, to info@dolphinacademy.co.nz

Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand and be at least 16 years old. All appointments include reference and Police checks.
