Adult learn to swim
We are excited to announce we are starting new adult learn-to-swim classes! Learning to swim is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, allowing you to be confident in and around water, enjoying the freedom it gives you to play and swim alongside your children! We acknowledge for some of you this may be a big step!
We have a 10 week 'Pilot' programme starting on 19th May, places are limited so please do not delay in booking in.
Fees are non-refundable, except in exceptional (medical) circumstances, at the discretion of Management. Cap and goggles and appropriate swimwear are required.
Paula Lindsay will be taking these classes. Paula is a very experienced Learn-to-swim instructor and has previously been with Dolphin Academy as a part-time instructor, and more recently as a casual instructor, filling in when we need her. She has previously taught adults to swim and is very excited to take on these classes for us. Paula believes it is so important to empower adults with the skill of being able to swim or just being confident in the water.
This is an initial Pilot programme so we will ask for your feedback at the end of the sessions. We will also ask that you fill in a form giving us more information about you and your experiences and goals. (to be sent upon booking and returned before lessons start)

Intermediate (16+)
For those adults who are comfortable in the water and can swim a short distance but have never been taught the correct technique, timing and breathing.
We will work on developing your kick, body positioning and movement in the water, building up strength and technique in freestyle and backstroke strokes. The aim is to comfortably swimming full lengths of a 25m pool.
10 x 30 min lessons
5:1 ratio (max)
6.55pm-7.25pm OR 7.30pm-8pm
once a week on a Monday evening
Starts 19th May – 28th July 2025 (no lesson King’s Birthday 2/6)
$280 for 10 weeks
Beginner (16+)
For those adults who have never experienced swimming before, or have very limited swimming ability or experience.
We will start with the basics, a real introduction to swimming. We will work on breath control, floating, submersion and confidence then developing your kick, body positioning and movement in the water. Working on strength and technique of basic freestyle and backstroke in shallow water.
10 x 30 min lessons
5:1 ratio (max)
6.20pm-6.50pm (1 class only)
once a week on a Monday evening
