It has one 25m x 5 lane indoor heated pool (approx. 29 degrees). 1.55m at deep end and 0.9m at shallow end. There is also a smaller Toddler Pool, however due to the current Filtration system this pool is the same temperature as the larger pool, therefore making it a little cold for Parent & Child classes We have plans working with the school and the Ministry of Education to upgrade the reticulation and filtration systems so the two pools run separately, allowing us to run Parent & Child classes. https://www.dolphinacademy.co.nz/greendale-pool-history daily 0.75 2020-11-12 https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5f59d298dd4f8e75e8543f46/t/5f9767ead084b853b147b8d1/1604447801591/old+pool+photo.png History of the Pool - Green Family Taradale Pool (Formally known as Taradale Community Pool or Greendale Pool) The journey to get here has been long and hard, but it has been incredibly heart-warming to see the Community pull together to ensure such an important asset remains in operation. In December 2016 the pool was closed by the Ministry of Education due to the roof structure not achieving the minimum level of structural capacity. Rather than see this pool closed, a group of dedicated volunteers got together and formed a plan. The Taradale Community Pool Trust (TCPT) was formed. The objectives of the Trust were to complete a business case and present to the MOE, get this approved and then lead the roof replacement project. The Trust’s role at the completion of the project will be to manage the asset. In June 2020 the Trust called for expressions of interest for operators to run the pool.
